Summer Learning Program
Hi OLV Families!
As we approach the end of the year, the Archdiocese of Baltimore has developed an academic support program to help students in grades 3-8 maintain and support the curriculum goals by which we operates each school year within students that would like to have or who have been recommended for summer programs by their teachers. This program is FREE, but limited to 1440 slots in grades 3-8. More information is provided in the links on the attached flyer. If your computer has issues opening the link, simply cut and paste the link into your browser window. Registration is open now, so we wanted you to have the flyer and the information as soon as possible to avoid being shut out.
Classes are available for ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies at each grade level, and will be done online with weekly topics. The entire program will last for six weeks, and we have been asked to emphasize that the full six-week commitment is being requested (and since it's remote learning, it is portable for weeks when you might be away!). With such limited openings, having people register and then not participate fully would be a disservice to others who would like to participate.
The summer work expectation guidelines for OLV students will come out tomorrow in the "regular" weekly update - the last one of the school year - although many of you have already done your material exchanges and so are aware of what is being asked. WE really want to hit the ground running in the fall, and programs like the one being offered will help avoid the dreaded "summer slide" without being overly burdensome on families.
Be well, stay cool, and we'll be back in touch tomorrow! ALWAYS BE KIND!
